Fatigue Tests

JFE-TEC - A company with an established reputation in evaluation and analysis of metal fatigue!

Most mechanical failure of metals is fatigue failure. Making full use of fatigue test know-how cultivated through work with iron and steel and approximately 25 fatigue testing machines of various types, our staff can provide valuable assistance in the client's evaluations of fatigue strength. Because we have a wealth of know-how in jig design, which is the highest hurdle in testing techniques, first ask us! We can also respond to clients' requests by utilizing our abundant experience in analysis of test results and fracture surface analysis techniques.

We can also provide fatigue testing services for FRP, ceramics and other non-metallic materials.

Please take a look at our fatigue tests of implant materials, which are used in the medical field!

Types of Fatigue Tests

Fatigue tests include the following types, which are classified by the form of the applied load, environmental factors, etc.

  • Tension-compression fatigue tests

Evaluation of endurance (fatigue strength) against cyclic stress by using a combination of tension, unloading and compression.

    • High cycle fatigue test: Normal fatigue test at frequencies up to approximately 1-5000 Hz.
    • Low cycle fatigue test: Fatigue test using a slow strain rate at frequencies of less than about 10 Hz.
    • Gigacycle fatigue test : Fatigue test in which approximately 1 × 109 cycles or more are applied in a short time by ultrasonic vibration, etc. (JFE-TEC does not perform this type of fatigue test.)
  • Fatigue crack propagation testing machine

Evaluates the propagation rate of fracture crack under cyclic stress.

  • Plane bending fatigue testing machine
  • Torsional fatigue testing machine
  • Rotating bending fatigue testing machine
  • Simulated environment fatigue testing machine

Possible to perform fatigue tests in actual use environment, for example, in seawater.

    • Corrosion fatigue testing machine
  • Part fatigue testing machine

Possible to perform fatigue tests of parts in the part condition.

    • Part fatigue testing machine
    • Triaxial fatigue testing machine
  • Structural member fatigue testing machine

Possible to perform fatigue tests in actual structures
